Global organisation Ryder, the renowned fleet management provider, is celebrating its UK Head Office move from Slough to Devizes and is recruiting local talent courtesy of specialist employment agency SJC Recruitment.

The organisation, based in Hambleton Avenue, Devizes, currently employs 65 staff and is looking to Swindon-based SJC Recruitment to fill its quality permanent and temporary sales and customer services vacancies.

Ryder classes its newly refurbished Devizes base as a “centre of excellence” and the company seized the opportunity to move its purchasing, project planning, major account management, business development and marketing functions from Slough to this more “user-friendly” site, thereby relocating the relevant teams.

The move will, over the coming months, create several new opportunities in Devizes.

Simon Futcher, Ryder’s customer development centre manager, who has been with the company for four years, said: “I am absolutely delighted with the new UK headquarter status of our Devizes office and the subsequent reputation Ryder will gain regionally for attracting high quality staff.

“The move to Devizes further necessitates our requirement for well-qualified, experienced team-members and SJC, who I have been working with for the last three years, has an excellent understanding of my requirements, which is in turn reflected in the great appointments I’ve made through them.

“The consistent quality of professional, specialist candidates submitted by SJC for a wide range of opportunities is second-to-none and I’m confident of finding the perfect fit for more opportunities through the agency.”

Vicky Smith, permanent staff head hunter at SJC’s Swindon office, said: “This head office move is great for both local employment and SJC and we look forward to maintaining and further developing our excellent relationship with Ryder and local businesses. I have developed an excellent, solid working relationship with Simon and continually work smart and proactively on his behalf, taking the necessary time required to understand his needs and provide solutions to his and other client’s very specific requirements.”
