Watersheds corporate finance specialists based in Old Town, Swindon, has completed an MBI deal for Quadrant Connections Ltd. an international company specialising in the production and sale of electrical cable assemblies for the electronics industry.

Quadrant produces cable assemblies, harnesses and panels and handles the UK distribution of connectors, cables and speech communication products for many blue chip companies in the telecomms, instrumentation, broadcast and defence sectors. Clients include Ericsson, Harris Broadcast, Nokia Siemens Networks, RS Components, Thales and Vodafone.  With a turnover in excess of £16.5m a year, its head office is based in Radlett near St Albans and it employs 130 staff.

Commenting on the deal, Watersheds’ partner Jane Seaton said:  “We had to put together a creative package to make this deal happen. Quadrant is a company with a long family history and an international reputation for the highest quality in its production standards.

“It was important that the company maintained its independence to ensure standards and key business relationships built up over the years can continue.  Our role in putting together a successful deal is often matching the right people with the right company and this was very much the case for Quadrant.”

Watersheds’ client David Miller is leading the MBI team and with over 24 years’ experience in the industry, he will take over as chairman and managing director at Quadrant.

“Quadrant is a company with fantastic potential and we will be looking to expand into new markets. It already has offshore manufacturing sites in the Czech Republic and Romania as well as subsidiaries in China and USA,” said Mr Miller.

“We are committed to strengthening the group as a whole and to retaining the headquarters and core manufacturing base in Radlett.  Key relationships with German principals, particularly Telegaertner, will be maintained and further developed.”
