Gloucestershire-based company Arc Handling Services is moving to premises of nearly 30,000 sq ft at South Marston Industrial Estate, Swindon.
Whitmarsh Lockhart has let The Concorde Building, South Marston Industrial Estate, Swindon to the company on a new 10 year lease.
The Concorde Building, formerly known as Unit C, was purchased by Tallantire Properties in August 2007, was under offer inside a month to Arc. The deal completed on January 2 following refurbishment works, which included an additional roller shutter door, levelling and repainting of the warehouse floor, and the addition of new warehouse heating. The premises was made up of 22,985 sq ft with 2,354 sq ft of this being offices.
Ralph Wells, head of the industrial agency team commented: “The completion of this deal within such a quick timeframe is due to my client adopting a very sensible approach to the refurbishment works.
“Tallantire Properties also own the Spitfire units on South Marston which they purchased some three to four years ago, which was the former Forward Industries manufacturing site. My client refurbished and broke this site up and then achieved a letting of the whole site inside a year. This sort of approach is what the market requires and pays dividends in terms of making deals happen.”
Arc, who were previously based in Barnsley, near Cirencester, initially had a preference to find new accommodation closer to Cirencester. However, due to the lack of product available Arc was happy to consider South Marston.
