The Inn at Fossebridge has been awarded a four star rating by both the AA and prestigious tourist organisation, Quality in Tourism, it was announced this month.
The rating represents major refurbishment by owner Robert Jenkins and is within the category for inns with quality guest rooms.
The Inn at Fossebridge has newly refurbished bedrooms, all representative of a 300 years old coaching inn style, and each named after a Cotswolds town or village - Fossebridge, Stow-on the-Wold, Tetbury, Cirencester, Burford, Bibury, Northleach, Moreton-in-Marsh.
Both travel organisations independly concluded that the inn justifies four stars - the maximum is five..."and I'm sure we'll reach this rating eventually", said Robert Jenkins.
The inn, situated at Fossebridge between Cirencester and Northleach on the A429, has had some £250,000 spent on internal decoration. A cottage able to sleep 10 has been re-developed and it is planned that other cottages will be restored in the grounds , also for self catering.
