Scott Wilson Group, the international consultancy which has a major office in Swindon, offering integrated professional services in the transportation, property, environmental and natural resources sectors, has reported half year results to October showing a 22.8 per cent increase in revenues to £113.2m.
Recent key contract wins include the East London Line, London Crossrail, Edinburgh Airport Rail Link, Greece Ionia Odos Motorway, Bahrain Islands Developments and Bath: Combe Down Mine Stabilisation. A record order book of £250m has been achieved.
Performance of the UK businesses in the period has been strong, with all Divisions exceeding expectations. Revenues including share of joint ventures are 21.2 per cent up on last year with significant growth in UK Central, Scotland & Ireland and UK Railways.
Underlying operating profit was up 21.7 per cent with underlying margins across the Divisions converging towards the upgraded Group benchmark of 8 per cent. Of particular note was the underlying margin improvement in UK South from 4.8 per cent to 7.0 per cent.
World-wide, the company now has more than 5,200 staff, up from 3,800 over the last 12 months.
