HSBC has kicked off the New Year with the official launch this week of its newly refurbished retail and commercial banking facilities in Swindon Old Town. The event was hosted by Tony Mahoney - group general manager and head of network at HSBC - in the company of in the company of 150 guests including local professionals and business, personal and premier customers.
The new features incorporate a fully functional retail banking branch on the ground floor with a Commercial Centre on the first floor and offers significantly improved facilities for customers, including: private interview facilities for both personal and business customers; increased counselling facilities; extensive “Express Banking” facilities including both internal and external ATMs and new generation deposit facilities allowing customers to deposit both cash and cheques, receive statements, transfer funds and pay bills; and customer information terminals, service telephones, and internet facilities.
David Parsons, HSBC’s area director for the Bath and Swindon region said: “We can trace our roots in Swindon back to 1923 but banking in the UK today is a far cry from what it used to be. It's crucial that we continue to evolve as a bank to meet the changing needs of our customers and our new look branches are a world away from the branches of old.
“We are confident that our customer’s in and around Swindon will appreciate the changes we have made. More space has been made available, particularly in the consultation areas where customers can comfortably discuss their finances.
“Coupled with the new services we have installed we can ensure our staff have more time to deal with enquiries personally and continue to deliver the excellent service our customers deserve.”
