Swindon’s Top 500 Companies is a list being made available by Swindon Business News to complement the Top 100 Companies, which has proved popular and useful to purchasers.

While the Top 100 is based on turnover figures of companies in the SN area (see Top 100 firms compilation details on the home page) the Top 500 list is based on numbers employed.

The data has been compiled as follows: it includes, of course, our Top 100 companies, followed by 400 companies in the Swindon area who employ 10 people or more, which co-incidentally amounts to about 400 companies.
We also include a number of larger employers in the GL7 Postcode area (Cirencester) due to its proximity to Swindon. We have been assisted by Swindon Borough Council in verifying numbers employed by larger companies.

The data includes company name, address, Postcode, company activity, telephone and fax numbers, plus the approximate number of people each company employs. While every effort has been made to verify these numbers, their accuracy cannot be guaranteed, partly due to constantly changing numbers employed. Any errors will be corrected upon advice from the company concerned.
